After a futile 6 weeks at VW dealership, FCS had my 1971 Bus back on the road in a couple of hours. Great, friendly owners and professional staff, top to bottom. I was informed of progress every step of the way (thanks Rick). Fair pricing on all services. Great advice for future servicing. Suggestions on everything from less expensive insurance for my classic old bus, to information on a nationwide network of similarly proficient repair shops. As painless an automotive repair experience as is possible. AND, they let me do the crossword puzzle in their waiting room copy of NYT:) Other service-oriented companies could learn a lot from these guys.

Originally had my car towed to FCS for a new alternator. I just wanted a quote and nothing more. Text/email updates and documentation were great but in the end they quoted me $1055 for an alternator. I denied the repair and when I went to go get my car, they charged me $156 as a diagnostic fee. I took my business to Schroder's where they did the repair for nearly half the price quoted by FCS. Moral of the story: get quotes from other shops first

We don't often have cars leave without being repaired, so we wonder what has happened. We are slightly confused about the price you have stated in your review. Our staff had vigorously searched through all of our suppliers' offering but were not able to find a replacement alternator for your vehicle that costs US less than the price you have stated, either new or rebuilt. We are hoping that everything is perfect with the repair you did have completed to your vehicle but certainly would welcome the opportunity to discuss those repairs further.
