I will leave my original review from our first experience to follow this update. UPDATE: So, my daughter went in for an inspection and received a detailed analysis and estimate (of nearly $4000) for repairs. I wrote an email asking for clarification, point by point, about the estimate. For example, as I live in Vermont, I need information about which repairs are required for the car to pass inspection and which are recommended (e.g. parking lights are "required" on the estimate but not according to NY state site). I am trying to make an informed decision. Foreign Car Specialists were communicative regarding my previous visit in 2019(see review below), but after an initial email attempt two an a half weeks ago and two follow-up emails asking for a response, I have had none. I have noticed that the owner responds to reviews, so maybe this update will bring a response. We'll see. Anyway, again, puzzled. --PREVIOUS REVIEW: My daughter, who is attending school in the Poughkeepsie area, had her car break down and needed towing and repair. I found Foreign Car Specialists and gave them a call. From the moment Gia (?) answered the phone to the moment my daughter picked up the car, I felt she and the car were in good hands. I was notified of progress and diagnoses, and I was pleased that I could feel reassured that my daughter was dealing with a group of people who cared about her well being. While I hope we don't have to return, we would gladly return here.
UPDATED REPLY: Thanks Kevin for sharing your updated experience - we have been short staffed during the recent weeks and I think your emails have slipped through the cracks! Your daughter's estimates had been sent to both her cell phone and her email address instead of yours, so sorry for that! I will personally review her vehicle's recent inspection report and associated estimates first thing when I return to the office and follow up with a phone call to you ASAP. We have been in your shoes, there's not much worse than having a child experience car trouble when they're too far from home to for you to be there to help. We are very happy that our Service Assistant, Gina, was able to take the phone call when Meghan's Volvo broke down. Gina is a superstar when it comes to customer service! Our techs Alex and Ryan are both very thorough and Ryan is becoming quite the Volvo "go-to" guy having owned two, himself! Your daughter's vehicle is holding out pretty well for having over 200,000 miles, we're happy to help her keep it on the road for as long as she needs! We very much appreciate your thoughtful words and will certainly share them with the team!
